Vocational Vitality

We spend nearly 90,000 hours of our lives at work. That’s about 1/3 of our waking adult life. Add commuting, emails, and the mental load we carry home... and the number climbs even higher.

What kind of life are we building with those hours?
Is it aligned with what matters to us?
Does it energize us—or slowly drain us?
Are we just making a living... or creating a life?

  • Vocation - a person's employment or main occupation, especially regarded as worthy and requiring dedication; a trade or profession

  • Vitality - the state of being strong and active; energy

Given how much time we spend at work, having a sense of Vocational Vitality would contribute significantly to our quality of life.

But what constitutes Vocational Vitality?

As you contemplate your current job and career, are there particular areas that would be worthwhile cultivating further?
